If you’ve been along for the ride with every email, you’ll remember my not-so-hot week last week. And what did I say to that? The laws of probabilities state that my results last week cannot impede my results this week. 

And, baby, was I ever right! While my Sir Rebral Seven hit a healthy 4-3 in Week 8, my full slate hit a whopping 67%. Yes, you read that correctly. Sixty-seven percent. 

My spread selects alone hit an insane 71%. Can you say, let’s gooooooo?!

Let’s dig into the analysis.

Sir Rebral Seven

❌SIR REBRAL SELECT: CHI +8.5 @ LAC 

Unable to stop the Chargers pass game at all, this was a disappointing outing for the Bears defense. When one aspect of the game goes completely haywire like that, you’re in trouble! The Bears still showed to have a solid offense and run defense as expected, but the pass defense broke their back.

✅SIR REBRAL SELECT: TB +9.5 @ BUF 

As expected, Buffalo’s offensive woes continued to some degree. Most of the second half, they could not manufacture more points to put Tampa away, leaving the backdoor open for the cover. It wasn’t the prettiest result, but it got it done.

✅SIR REBRAL SELECT: PHI -6.5 @ WSH 

The Eagles offense did indeed run over the Commanders defense, as expected. But the Commanders offensive line woes suddenly evaporated, as the Eagles didn’t get to QB but one time, allowing Washington to score on them at ease.

❌SIR REBRAL SELECT: PHI WSH UNDER 43.5

Although we saw these two teams get in a high scoring matchup a month ago, I was too quick to count out the Commanders offensive line, who struggled mightily in their recent games. Against Philly specifically, they clearly had something figured out that I didn’t get to account for properly.

✅SIR REBRAL SELECT: CIN SF OVER 43.5

As expected, not much defense in this game. The 49ers looked broken against Minnesota last week, and they continued to give up heaps of yards all game long to a Cincinnati team that hasn’t exactly been lighting it up. There should have been lots more points in this one, but there were 2 goal line turnovers, so it actually ended up being a sweat.

❌SIR REBRAL SELECT: LAR DAL UNDER 45

This bet was dead early in the second quarter, as the Cowboys got a pick 6, long punt return, and a safety on a blocked punt all in a short span. The final yardage by both offenses would indicate that 45 was probably a bit high for the O/U line.  

✅SIR REBRAL SELECT: MIN -1 @ GB 

The Packers have been horrible all year, and there was no reason to think that would change this week. The Vikings were by far and away more coherent than them heading into this week, much improving on offense and defense, as displayed in the 49ers game. This game wasn’t even close.

🙅‍♂️SIR REBRAL STAY AWAY🙅‍♂️: SF -3.5 v CIN

Don’t touch this spread! 

With the defense in SF signaling alarm bells giving up 500 yards last week, I figured this home game was in doubt. Even against a Cincinnati team near the bottom of the league in yards gained. Not just that, but Brock Purdy was in concussion protocol, so there was some doubt on that front as well.
