NFL Week 10 in Retrospect

The Sir Rebral Seven Recap

It’s no secret that this week was a tough one. My overall slate clocked in at 38% and the Sir Rebral Seven went 2-5. It’s always a bummer when my slate doesn’t hit where I would have hoped. However, we can’t forget this cardinal truth: there will be bad weeks and there will be good weeks. And one low-win week does not define a season.

As I prepare for a stronger, sharper week, let’s break down each game and where my analysis went right and (mostly) wrong.

The Sir Rebral Seven

SIR REBRAL SELECT: NYJ -1 @ LV

Despite the outcome, I still believe it was the right bet. The Jets gained almost 400 yards of offense –– plenty more than the Raiders gained. But the Jets could not find the end-zone, registering 4 field goals en route to a 16-12 loss. They didn’t execute!

SIR REBRAL SELECT: DEN BUF UNDER 47

This close and sweaty game featured a ton of turnovers, mostly by Buffalo, which expedited the scoring of points in many of the cases. Both teams ran the ball effectively, but large chunk plays and turnovers led to a 24-22 final, squeaking out the win!

SIR REBRAL SELECT: GB PIT UNDER 39

The Packers ended up gaining 400 yards of offense, far more than I could have projected for this team. And despite that high number, it STILL only equated to 19 points for them! Pittsburgh’s 23 points felt on par with my prediction, but the relatively low O/U number of 39 busted as a result of the better-than-expected offense. Head scratcher.

SIR REBRAL SELECT: CLE BAL UNDER 38

When the very first play of a game is a pick 6 and you have the under, it is nauseating. To make matters worse, there was even a SECOND pick 6 later in the game, for good measure! Definitely the wackiest game of the week, as the Browns ended up winning at the buzzer 33-31.

SIR REBRAL SELECT: IND NE UNDER 43.5

It’s hard to believe that the over/under was this high for this game. Despite the first quarter scores by both teams, scoring came to a screeching halt. By the end of the third quarter, the score remained 7-3. Both teams run the ball (one of the many reasons I chose the under in this game). They did so pretty effectively, gobbling up the clock in big chunks for most of the game. A beautiful 10-6 final score.

SIR REBRAL SELECT: JAX +3 v SF, OVER 45

Huge dud by me on this game. The 49ers were clearly more effective at getting organized during their bye week. It was a 34-3 trouncing, and all doubts about the 49ers defense that had struggled for the last month went out the window. They dominated from start to finish, and neither of the selections I made were anywhere close.

🙅‍♂️SIR REBRAL STAY AWAY🙅‍♂️: SEA -6.5 v WSH

Don’t touch this spread!

The Seahawks continued their red zone struggles, but still were able to squeak out a victory at the buzzer with a field goal. This game was all over the place, with the Commanders off to an early lead, then Seattle went up by 7, then Washington came back to tie it at the end. It was hard to predict exactly where this game would fall, and I was right to be suspicious of Seattle covering 6 points.
